Ashley Liz Cooper is a Los Angeles based clothing designer, model and social media influencer whose new clothing line, The Liz XX, was launched in Times Square with the help of Five Tier on February 8. The Liz XX is a high-end streetwear brand whose clothes are cruelty-free and organically made and also feature wellness and home & tech products as well. Ashley took some time out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions for Five Tier and discuss the inspriations behind her line and what the future holds for The Liz XX. Q: What inspires your style and where did the idea for The-Liz-XX come from?

A: The inspiration for my personal style is mostly defined by my travels. At the age of 21 I have had the privilege of visiting over 14 countries. The diversity I’ve witnessed both culturally and artistically continues to inspire me. Also the idea of pushing boundaries and standing out. The idea for the The Liz XX is all about pushing boundaries and bringing awareness to social issues in an innovative and creative way. While some may view our tee’s, for example, as controversial it’s all about bringing awareness.

Q: What separates you from other young designers and The Liz XX from other lines?

A: I believe what separates The Liz XX from other designers as well as other lines, is what goes into making our clothes.  We are so blessed to be able to employ local Los Angeles manufacturers and never consider cutting costs. We don’t support unfair work conditions like so many brands do. Also the entirety of our streetwear is unisex to support gender equality.

Q: Not only does The Liz XX sell streetwear but you also sell wellness products. What hatched this idea and can you let us know what your favorite product is?

A: I came up with this idea when I was traveling Asia. When I was there, I truly saw how beauty starts with a healthy routine and I believe that a fashion brand selling these products promotes a healthy lifestyle for those who wear the clothes. Personally, my favorite wellness product is the honey mask from Japan. It’s super hydrating and works well on all skin types!

Q: We recently saw you on a Times Square billboard to promote your line, what’s next as far as marketing your business? Any big ideas?

A: As far as what’s next for The Liz XX, we are super excited to announce our pop up store in New York this April. It will take place April 1-28 at Naked Nolita – The Flagship at 224 Mulberry Street in Soho, New York. We will also be featuring custom fit, higher end pieces, that are made with your own unique measurements in store. We are very excited for this inclusive way to bring our new clothing items to people of all different sizes.
