Interview with Reinold:
How did you get involved with graphic design? What is your favorite aspect of the craft?
A: That’s a very good question with a funny answer. At school, I enrolled in “Multimedia Production” thinking that I was enrolling in “Music Production” or something related to music technology. I didn’t know what Graphic Design was really but it turned out that I was good at doing it (laughs). My favorite aspect is related to the psychological part of the craft. I enjoy when something that looks “unorganized” becomes something beautiful and clean just adjusting colors, typography, spacing and making correct use of visual weight.
You helped with the creation of the new Five Tier website, what was that like?
A: Frank had the idea of how he wanted the website to be done in his head already. I just translated his ideas into graphic language. He knows a little about everything so it is really easy to get inspired by his way of thinking. We shared ideas and that’s how we came up with the design as it is right now.
Who are some of your artistic inspirations?
A: Apple design philosophy, Dieter Rams, Design Thinking progress, every branch of design as Industrial Design, Product Design, Architecture, etc.
