Five Tier’s “Music Monday” Successes

Posted by Chris Murch on September 27, 2019

In Q3 2019, Five Tier, a digital marketing company based in NYC, launched a new offering to promote musical artists through digital out-of-home (DOOH) media. With the ability to put businesses of any size up on Times Square billboards for as low as $25 per digital ad play, Five Tier has been helping artists promote shows, singles, and albums in a high-impact way that’s both timely and cost-effective.

In the last week, we have had artists who are signed with labels such Warner Music Group, Epic Records and Atlantic records feature their newest releases on our “Commuter” Times Square billboard. Located on 42nd Street and 7th Avenue, this billboard sits right above the busiest public transit stop in the entire country. Hundreds of thousands of people walk by this board daily, and with four different screens to project your creative, the visibility is massive. When you pair it with a social media post as a part of your marketing mix, the reach can be huge.

On Monday, September 23 we featured Epic Records artist Travis Thompson on our boards for the release of his major-label debut album “Reckless Endangerment.” When posted to his Instagram, he got more than 10,000 ‘likes’ and an engagement rate that made it one of his top five best performing posts ever. He also scored more than 1,000 likes on a related Twitter post, which is incredible for such an artist on the rise.

On September 25, we had Warner Music Group artist, AZChike, on the same board for his mixtape release. He also saw huge engagement on social media, receiving more than 1,000 likes on his Twitter post and 243 retweets. For someone with less than 15,000 followers on the platform, that’s big. He also was very happy with the post, shouting us out on Twitter and receiving praise from the Warner brass.

The very next day, Atlantic Records own Jack Harlow debuted on our board. An artist who has recently seen success on streaming platforms with songs like “Through The Night” with Bryson Tiller and “SUNDOWN,” Harlow wanted to make sure his latest project “Confetti” landed with a bang. What better way than to be up in Times Square? Harlow posted a video of his placement to over 3,000 likes on Twitter and a record number of comments on his personal Instagram.

Helping both independent and major-label artists with promotion of their content is one of Five Tier’s favorite aspects of the business. It’s a total win-win as artists get visibility for their projects on the ground in NYC and score more influence via social than they’ve ever had before. The record labels get to have a cost-effective way of showcasing their artists. With packages starting as low as $500 (20 plays at $25 per digital ad play) with your own personalized two-hour block on any day of your choosing, this is an opportunity that you can’t pass up if you are a label or artist.
